a duet for one human and one cardboard box

YGN5.jpeg

At times appearing as a solo for two or duet of one, this dance for human and cardboard box explores companionship in its earnest, fragile, and misbelieving forms. The similarly silhouetted dancer and box often overlap into one euphorically united mass, driven by shared momentum and intensity. Other moments dissolve into misalignment, revealing distinct temperaments and capacities of two beings. While conflating their nearness with oneness, box and human experience the fragile tenderness of attempting to find and fit into a space of partnership with another.

Choreography by Meagan Woods, performance by Brian Postalian and sound design by Joey Zuarrini
